Tika & Tyler
A Destination Wedding Defined by Coastal Elegance
On August 31st, 2025, Tika and Tyler gathered their closest friends and family for a beautiful Mediterranean destination wedding at Convent de Blanes. Located above the sea along the Costa Brava, the timeless cliffside venue with its historic stone architecture, natural greenery, and sweeping Mediterranean views, provided an effortlessly perfect setting for this beautiful seaside celebration.
Shortly after a memorable first look shared by Tika and Tyler on a balcony overlooking the sea, guests began to arrive at the convent. They were welcomed with refreshments before being guided down the terraced stone steps to the ceremony. The ceremony took place along the gently descending steps, with guests seated on either side in rows of clear chairs. Their transparent design created a light and effortless feel, allowing the focus to remain on the surroundings sea views, soft sand tones, and greenery within the space. An aisle formed between the seating, lined with clusters of green plants set into sand, leading toward the altar. At the base, organic arrangements of the same greenery appeared to emerge naturally from the sand, framing the couple and echoing the coastal landscape.
Tika walked down the aisle to the music of a live string quartet, carrying an elegant bouquet of sculptural white calla lilies accented with flowing green elements, while the bridesmaids carried long-stem floral bouquets featuring the same blooms. Tyler and the groomsmen wore single-flower boutonnieres that mirrored the bridal florals, tying the entire wedding party seamlessly into the ceremony design. The cohesive greenery and florals blended effortlessly with the setting, creating a unified and natural aesthetic throughout. The ceremony was made even more meaningful as it was officiated by Tyler’s brother, adding a deeply personal and heartfelt touch to the moment.
After the ceremony, the newlyweds were showered with flower petals as they made their way out, before guests were guided to the lower terrace for cocktail hour. Set against sweeping sea views, the space embraced a refined coastal aesthetic with a clean, serene feel. White flags gently moved in the sea air, while cocktail tables were styled with delicate shells arranged across crisp linens, subtly echoing the shoreline below. Beautifully crafted menus featured textured paper with raised details resembling drops of water, reinforcing the ocean-inspired design. Adding to the atmosphere, live musicians performed throughout the cocktail hour while bartenders crafted delicious cocktails on the spot, creating an engaging and lively experience for guests. A standout detail was the seating plan, displayed on a round mirrored table set into sand. Guests’ names and table numbers were written in a circular layout across the mirror’s surface, which reflected the drifting clouds and the colour of the sky above, creating a striking yet understated focal point.
Once the sun began to set, guests were invited inside the convent for the reception, held within its atmospheric stone halls. A single, long table stretched through the space, creating an intimate yet striking setting. Down the center, a continuous runner of natural sand was layered with organic greenery and scattered shells, echoing the coastal landscape outside. Clear chairs kept the look modern and unobtrusive, allowing the textures and tones of the table to take center stage. Each place setting featured beautifully textured plates, paired with delicate menus and name cards crafted from the same handmade paper seen earlier, finished with subtle water-drop details that caught the light. Particularly memorable were the custom designed candle holders, which when lit cast rippling reflections across the table, reminiscent of light dancing across water at the bottom of the sea. In a thoughtful final gesture, these specially crafted candle holders were gifted to guests at the end of the evening, allowing them to take home a meaningful piece of the wedding. As everyone enjoyed a delicious dinner, the room was filled with conversation, laughter, and heartfelt speeches shared throughout the meal, making this part of the celebration especially meaningful.
The night concluded on the upper terrace, where the celebration continued late into the night with the couple surrounded by their closest family and friends. The dance floor featured a round mirror at its center, reflecting the lights and the movement on the dance floor. The after party began with a beautifully striking first dance by the newlyweds, followed by heartfelt dances with their parents, setting a beautiful tone for the night ahead. It was a joyful and intimate finale, filled with music, connection, and a sense of effortless celebration, perfectly reflecting the relaxed, coastal spirit and heartfelt energy that defined their wedding from start to finish.
