Megan & Colin
An Iconic Seaside Wedding at Hostal de La Gavina
In May of 2025, Megan and Colin gathered their closest family and friends in Spain, on the Costa Brava for a destination wedding set at the iconic Hostal de La Gavina estate in S’Agaró. Known for its elegant Mediterranean architecture, manicured gardens, and sea-facing terraces, the historic venue provided a refined yet relaxed backdrop for the celebrations to unfold.
The wedding weekend began with a welcome party held within the grounds of La Gavina. Guests arrived dressed entirely in white, creating an effortless, cohesive look that echoed the estate’s timeless surroundings. A live guitarist set a relaxed, atmospheric tone as friends and family mingled across the terrace, enjoying drinks, conversation, and the first moments of the weekend together. The evening felt warm and unhurried, an effortless introduction to Megan and Colin’s celebration by the sea.
On the morning of the wedding, Megan and Colin got ready separately within the iconic rooms of Hostal de la Gavina, each space reflecting the character and history of the venue. Megan spent the morning surrounded by her bridesmaids and close family, getting ready together before surprising them and her father with joyful, emotion-filled first looks. Meanwhile, Colin gathered with his groomsmen and family in one of the hotel’s classic bars, raising a final toast together before the celebrations began.
The ceremony took place at the iconic Loggia de Senya Blanca, set within the historic Senya Blanca gardens just beside Hostal de la Gavina. With its stone arches opening directly onto the Mediterranean, the setting felt both grand and serene. A live string quartet provided a soft, musical backdrop as guests arrived and the ceremony unfolded. The altar was beautifully framed by sculptural floral installations that climbed the columns, blending white blooms, soft greenery, and subtle hints of pale yellow. These tones, along with the deep blues of the sea beyond, were echoed in Megan’s bouquet and Colin’s boutonniere, which combined white, yellow, and blue florals to seamlessly tie the ceremony design to its coastal surroundings. Guests were seated in a circular arrangement around the ceremony space, creating an intimate, inclusive atmosphere while enjoying uninterrupted views of the sea beyond. With the open horizon behind the couple and the gentle presence of the Mediterranean throughout, the ceremony felt calm, refined, and unmistakably coastal.
Following the ceremony, guests returned to Hostal de la Gavina for cocktail hour on the upper terrace and the adjoining garden. Round low and high tables were dressed in soft neutral linens and styled with delicate floral arrangements that carried through the ceremony’s design palette, accented with fresh lemons for a subtle Mediterranean touch. Woven chairs and relaxed lounge seating were placed throughout the lawn, inviting guests to settle in and enjoy the views. A standout detail was the seating chart table, set against a softly draped fabric backdrop. Adorned with florals and blue hydrangea arrangements, the table featured individual envelopes holding each guest’s table assignment, blending thoughtful design with understated elegance.
After cocktail hour, guests were invited to the reception on the lower terrace. Guests were seated at round tables dressed in soft blue linens, continuing the day’s light, summery palette. Arrangements of blue, butter yellow, and white florals added warmth and texture, echoed again in the buttery yellow wedding cake. A rectangular sweetheart table for Megan and Colin was placed at the side of the terrace, set against a breathtaking backdrop of the sea stretching out behind them. As the evening settled in, the terrace felt relaxed and refined, with warm string lights overhead casting a soft, golden glow as the sun set. The result was an elegant continuation of the Mediterranean atmosphere that defined the celebration.
As the sun set over the coast, the celebration flowed seamlessly into an evening of dancing. Following a romantic first dance, Megan surprised guests with an iconic dress change. She and Colin then made a memorable re-entrance to the dance floor, accompanied by two performers in dazzling, disco ball inspired outfits that lit up the floor, setting the tone for a night that felt glamorous and carefree. The evening unfolded into an unforgettable celebration, closing out an iconic summer wedding on the Costa Brava with style and joy.
