A Mediterranean Garden Wedding: Hayley and Sam’s Celebration at Casa de Santa Clotilde

In June of 2024, Hayley and Sam gathered their closest family and friends in Spain, on the Costa Brava for a Jewish wedding celebration defined by sea views, historic architecture, and the quiet elegance of a European garden estate. Their celebration took place at the remarkable Casa de Santa Clotilde, known for its terraced Renaissance gardens, cypress-lined pathways, and uninterrupted views of the Mediterranean. Creating an ideal backdrop for this beautiful celebration.

Hayley and Sam exchanged vows on an intimate garden terrace surrounded by tall cypress trees, with an opening in the greenery that revealed a clear view of the sea. Guests were seated in a circular arrangement around the stage, mirroring the terrace’s shape and creating a warm, inclusive atmosphere. At the center, a natural chuppah of wood, with soft fabric, and fresh greenery formed a simple, elegant focal point, surrounded by white and green florals that blended effortlessly with the garden. Personalized kippahs were available for guests, each featuring a beautiful hand-drawn illustration of the Casa de Santa Clotilde. Adding a thoughtful, meaningful detail that reflected both tradition and place.

After the ceremony, guests moved toward the villa terrace for the cocktail hour, passing through a fabric-draped entrance framed by tall hedges. Within the draping, a very subtle hand-drawn seating plan was incorporated, blending seamlessly into the fabric and serving as an elegant transition into the next part of the celebration. On the terrace, marble-topped cocktail tables and white parasols created a soft, summery setting, while the surrounding greenery added a natural backdrop. Along the edge of the garden, smaller tables were dressed in beautifully illustrated linens, each featuring hand-drawn motifs paired with delicate floral arrangements and a polished shell dish that added a subtle coastal touch. A live band played under the shade of the trees, giving the space an easy, relaxed rhythm as guests settled in with drinks and conversation.

As the cocktail hour drew to a close, guests were invited into the next chapter of the celebration: an open-air dinner set within the villa’s secluded garden. Two long tables stretched across the gravel terrace, surrounded by soft greenery and illuminated by warm overhead string lights. The setting felt both intimate and elegant, an effortless continuation of the Mediterranean atmosphere that had shaped the day.

Before guests took their seats at the dinner table, the energy shifted as everyone gathered for lively dancing. Hayley and Sam were lifted into the air for the horah, surrounded by cheering friends and family. A joyful, spirited moment that set the tone for the evening ahead.

The dinner tables were dressed in soft stone-colored linens and styled with garden-inspired florals in shades of green, white, and soft blue. Hydrangea and delicate seasonal blooms filled low ceramic vessels, creating arrangements that felt natural and refined. The place settings featured blue-and-white patterned plates and hand-drawn table numbers that echoed the artistic details woven throughout the day. With everyone gathered, a round of heartfelt speeches brought a mix of warmth and humour to the table.

Once dinner came to a close, the celebration moved into an outdoor after-party with a live band setting the pace. Hayley and Sam opened the evening’s festivities with their first dance, surrounded by sparklers that lit up the night. Soon everyone joined them on the floor, dancing under the open sky. A lively finish to the day.
