Emily & Gabriel
An Intimate Destination Wedding in the Costa Brava Countryside
In June of 2025, Emily and Gabriel celebrated an intimate destination wedding in Spain at Casa Ana Maria Hotel. Surrounded by their closest family and friends, the couple exchanged vows at this beautiful boutique hotel nestled in nature, just a short distance from the coast. The venue offered the perfect backdrop for a wedding celebration that felt intimate and effortlessly beautiful.
The day before the wedding, Emily & Gabriel welcomed their guests to a relaxed poolside celebration. Set beside the villa’s beautiful pool, the evening featured traditional paella, live music, and a captivating performance by Spanish flamenco dancers, setting a vibrant and memorable tone for the celebrations to come.
On the wedding day the ceremony took place on a beautiful open lawn, with expansive views of the green hills and surrounding trees forming a breathtaking natural backdrop behind the altar. Wooden benches with woven, thatched seats were lined along the aisle, blending effortlessly into the landscape and enhancing the organic feel of the setting. At the end of the aisle, the couple were beautifully framed by low, meadow-style floral arrangements placed directly on the grass, composed of soft blush, cream, and muted peach blooms mixed with textured greenery and delicate flowering stems. These natural, earthy-toned florals continued along the base of the benches, creating a gently flowing aisle that felt both intentional and beautifully in tune with the surrounding countryside.
After the ceremony, the cocktail hour took place on one of the hotel’s beautiful patios, surrounded by warm Mediterranean stone architecture, which gave the space an inviting and timeless atmosphere. High and low tables were thoughtfully arranged throughout the patio, dressed in soft beige linens and paired with wooden chairs that perfectly complemented the overall aesthetic. Each table was adorned with a charming, colorful floral arrangement in small ceramic vases, adding a fresh and joyful touch to the setting. A standout feature of the cocktail hour was the cocktail bar, where professional bartenders crafted an exceptional selection of handmade cocktails for guests to enjoy. Another unique and memorable element was the seating chart, which featured personalized pots of handmade marmalade, each labeled with the guest’s name and table assignment. This creative display was presented on a dedicated table, beautifully styled with a vibrant floral arrangement. Throughout the cocktail hour, the couple and their guests were able to enjoy the expertly crafted drinks, and delicious bites before moving on to the next chapter of the celebration.
After cocktail hour, the reception unfolded on the terrace overlooking the property’s garden and surrounding hills. A single long table was set beneath a beautiful wooden pergola draped in trailing plants, creating a natural canopy in which softly glowing string lights were hung. The table was dressed in beige linens, and featured rattan placemats paired with wooden-handled cutlery, perfectly complementing the earthy, natural tones that carried through from the ceremony and cocktail hour. Each place setting was finished with a personalized menu detailing the guest’s name. Additionally, lush floral arrangements in warm peach, blush, and soft lilac hues brought the tablescape to life, while a mix of low and tall tapered candles added a romantic glow as the sun set and evening fell. Throughout dinner, heartfelt speeches were shared as well as the presentation and cutting of the wedding cake, a beautiful minimalist design adorned with delicate florals that echoed the overall aesthetic.
Once dessert and accompanying drinks had been enjoyed, the celebration continued as everyone made their way to the dance floor. Set between the hotel’s façade and the pergola, an intimate dance space came to life beneath colourful spotlights, with the DJ positioned on a stage in front of the beautiful stone exterior. Emily and Gabriel opened the evening with their first dance, before their friends and family joined them, with a live saxophone performance setting the tone and elevating the atmosphere at the start of the party, before the dancing carried on late into the night.
