Barbara & Jakob

A Wedding Shaped by Rustic Mediterranean Charm: Barbara & Jakob

On 4th October 2024, Barbara and Jakob were married at Can Mora de Dalt, a historic estate set high above the coastline near Barcelona, with beautiful green gardens and an open view of the Mediterranean Sea. Defined by its warm stone architecture and understated rustic charm, the venue felt perfectly suited the relaxed, joyful spirit of their celebration.

Barbara and Jakob spent the morning getting ready within the venue, each in one of Can Mora de Dalt’s character-filled rooms, defined by its thick stone walls and exposed wooden ceilings. Before the ceremony, they shared a private first look on one of the balconies overlooking the swimming pool and gardens below, with the sea stretching out in the distance. Away from the guests and the pace of the day, this quiet moment allowed them to take everything in together before the celebrations began.

The ceremony took place in the garden, set beside the pool and surrounded by tall hedges and trees. With views opening out toward the sea beyond. Guests were seated facing a softly layered altar, where loose, airy floral arrangements in pale yellows, whites, and soft greens were placed low to the ground, allowing the setting itself to take the lead. The florals felt light and meadow-like, with grasses and seasonal blooms adding movement and texture that blended naturally into the landscape. Barbara and Jakob welcomed their guests together before walking down the aisle side by side, setting a warm and personal tone from the very beginning. Ahead of them, two flower girls scattered petals along the grass as they walked alongside the wedding officiant. The overall setting felt open and calm, thoughtfully composed to highlight the surroundings and the moment itself.

After the ceremony, guests gathered for cocktail hour in the gardens just below the house, a series of intimate terraces framed by manicured hedges and opening out toward views of the surrounding hills. The setting felt open and social, with guests moving easily between tables. White round cocktail tables were paired with woven wooden chairs, blending seamlessly with the surrounding landscape. Each table was styled with Mediterranean-inspired details. Small arrangements of airy white and yellow flowers, natural ceramic vases, and baskets filled with fresh lemons and limes, adding bright pops of colour and a distinctly Mediterranean touch to the setting. Live music played throughout the cocktail hour, filling the garden with a light, joyful atmosphere as guests mingled, enjoyed drinks, and settled into the rhythm of the evening.

Dinner was served at a single long banquet table, bringing everyone together around one shared setting. The table was dressed in natural linen and styled with a flowing mix of white and yellow florals, woven through with bowls of lemons and limes that added fresh colour and a clear Mediterranean character. At each place setting, patterned napkins were personalized with delicate embroidery, introducing a relaxed and thoughtful detail that balanced the organic florals and natural textures. Soft candlelight ran the length of the table, creating a warm glow as the evening unfolded. The overall effect felt joyful and inviting.

As the night went on, the celebration flowed into the disco, where the energy shifted and everyone joined the dance floor. With great music, laughter, and a carefree mood, guests danced late into the night, clearly making the most of every moment and bringing the day to a joyful close.
